𐓈𐒰𐓄𐓂𐓆𐒼𐒰 𐒰͘𐒼𐓂𐓈𐒰𐓬𐒻 (Our School), is an educational facility serving Osage children ranging in age from 6 weeks old through 7th grade. 𐓈𐒰𐓄𐓂𐓆𐒼𐒰 𐒰͘𐒼𐓂𐓈𐒰𐓬𐒻 provides a place where children can begin to learn the Osage language, at a preverbal age, by hearing the Osage language spoken for several hours each day. By immersing students in the Osage language and culture, and providing them with opportunities to explore and learn each day, their self-esteem and Osage identity of our next generation will be strengthened.

SUPERINTENDENT: PATRICK MARTIN

ABOUT SUPERINTENDENT MARTIN | I am Osage on my Father’s side. His Grandmother (Clementine Plomondain) and Grandfather (Ernest Mongrain) were both original allottees. She was from Grayhorse and he was from Pawhuska. My Father grew up in Pawhuska and Fairfax. They eventually moved to Tulsa and my Grandmother brought us to Pawhuska for the dances when I was growing up. I went to school in Tulsa and college in Kansas. I always had an interest in learning languages and spent about ten years oversees teaching English and learning languages – Spanish, French, Italian, German, Latin and Chinese. When I returned to Oklahoma, I married and started my teaching career in Tulsa. Eventually, I went into school administration and served as Principal for about 16 years. I am very happy to work at the Daposka Ahnkodapi now to learn and teach Wazhazhe Ea. My wife, Ashley, and I have raised four wonderful kids.
