Winter Weather Preparedness

OSAGE RESERVATION, OKLA. (January 31, 2022) – At Osage Nation (ON), safety is the top priority. The National Weather Service is predicting a significant winter storm from Wednesday, February 2 through Friday, February 4, 2022 for our area. The Osage Nation Emergency Management Department has been working with the Oklahoma State Emergency Management since last Friday in making preparations for the upcoming winter event. Osage Nation has mobile generators staged at the Pawhuska campus with an electrician on standby and procurement of bottled water is currently being processed. Four-wheel drive vehicles are available for delivery of meals for Title VI, if needed.

ON Emergency Management is set to patrol roads and monitor weather reports. In the event that roads are hazardous, ON will make closure announcements ahead of commutes and ON Information Technologies is prepared to support remote work for employees if needed. The Harvest Land Cultural Gardening Class scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2, will be postponed until next week. Registrants will be contacted with updated information soon.

The Wahzhazhe Health Center strongly encourages all patients to evaluate their medication supply and make preparations, if needed.
