2021 WahZhaZhe Heritage Trails Grand Opening

Pawhuska, Ok. – (May 5, 2021) Please join the Osage Nation Roads Department (ONRD) for the Grand Opening of the WahZhaZhe Heritage Trails!  Wednesday, a ribbon-cutting will be demonstrated to celebrate the official opening of the trails to the community. 
 
The construction started May 18, 2020.  The project was funded through $1.5 million (100%) federal Tribal Transportation Funds. Project contributors include Wallace Engineering, Builders Unlimited, Inc., and Osage Roads Inspector Joey Bills. 
 
The Osage Nation Director of Operations, Casey Johnson, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event.  He will welcome Osage Minerals Councilman Talee Redcorn to say a prayer.  Other speakers include Principal Chief Standing Bear, ON Congress Speaker Angela Pratt, ONRD Project Manager Justin Carr, and a representative speaker from Builders Unlimited, Inc.
 
Justin Carr commented on the year-long project, saying, “It is great to build something that enhances the health and wellness of our people that our whole community can enjoy.”
