Online application now available for Osage Veterans Memorial

Veteran's Memorial Commission gathering names of Osage veterans for Memorial scheduled to begin construction later this year

Pawhuska, Okla., (Friday, January 26, 2018)Last week, the Osage Nation launched an online registration form for Osage veteran names and information. The names will be added to the first-ever Osage Nation Veterans Memorial that is scheduled to break ground and have a ribbon cutting later this year.

Osage veterans and the families of Osage veterans are encouraged toregister to have their name or a veteran family members name added to the memorial.

The Osage Nation Veterans Memorial Commission is leading the memorial project and is comprised of four Osage veterans and one Osage War Mother. The four Osage veterans are Alfred McKinley, Richard Luttrell, John Henry Mashunkashey, and CMSGT (Ret.) Richard Perrier. The one Osage War Mother is Frances West-Williams. A bio of each commission member is available on the Nations website.

About the Osage Nation Veterans Memorial Commission
The Osage Nation Congress established the Osage Veterans Memorial Commission, formally the War Memorial Commission, in 2011. The purpose of the Commission is to follow the Osage Nation tradition of honoring Osage veterans...[and] to provide a physical reminder for present and future generations of the contributions and sacrifices of Osage veterans and their families."
