Faren Anderson is an Osage Nation citizen from the Pawhuska District, a graduate of Pawhuska High School and Oklahoma State University, former Miss Indian Oklahoma, former Osage Nation congresswoman, and the great-great-granddaughter of Chief Bacon Rind. Her public service includes work with the Bureau of Land Management, service in the first Osage Nation Congress, advising Principal Chief John D. Red Eagle, and serving on the Osage Nation Bluestem Ranch Board. For more than 22 years, she has co-owned Spurs and Arrows in Pawhuska. She has served in leadership positions with the Oklahoma Buckskin Horse Association and the Osage County Historical Society. A landowner and accomplished horse exhibitor, Anderson has earned multiple world championship titles while maintaining a lifelong commitment to her community and the Osage people.
