Osage Nation Releases 2024 Audit Report, Presents Top-Tier Accountability

OSAGE NATION SERVICE AREA, Okla. (September 5, 2025) – Osage Nation proudly releases clean audit findings for the 2024 Osage Nation Financials, reflecting top-tier accountability and oversight. This is the fifth consecutive year for the Osage Nation’s audit to contain zero significant deficiencies or material weaknesses to report. In addition to exceptional findings, the Treasury, Grants, Procurement, and Accounting Departments submitted all materials to REDW, an independent CPA firm, 30 days before the deadline. 

 

The Osage Nation Department of the Treasury is responsible for ensuring strong fiscal policy and financial accountability in accordance with strict accounting standards. Per the Osage Nation Constitution (Article VII, Section 13), there shall be established, by Osage law, a Department of the Treasury in the Executive Branch and the Principal Chief shall appoint a Treasurer to act as the Chief Financial Officer and administer fiscal policy and ensure financial accountability of the Osage Nation, by and with the advice and consent of the Osage Nation Congress. The powers and duties of the Treasurer of the Osage Nation shall be prescribed by the Osage Nation Congress and will include the mandate that an annual financial statement for the Osage Nation government be audited by a Certified Public Accountant approved by the Congress or by committee of the Congress and presented to the Congress in a timely manner. The Treasurer shall accept, receipt for, keep and safeguard all tribal funds as directed by the Congress and shall maintain and provide an accurate record of such tribal funds.
