Osage Nation Food Service and Assistance

The Osage Nation remains committed to supporting our communities by providing food service and assistance programs that help ensure children, families, and elders have access to nutritious meals and essential resources.

Through seasonal and year-round meal distributions and food assistance initiatives, the Osage Nation continues to invest in the health, wellness, and overall well-being of our families and communities.

Osage Nation Food Assistance Program

The Osage Nation Food Assistance Program is a direct assistance initiative established to support the nutritional needs of Osage citizens and families by providing access to quality food resources. Administered through Osage Nation Butcher House Meats and Harvest Land, the program provides eligible Osage members with an annual food assistance benefit to help reduce food insecurity and promote healthy living.

Eligible participants must be enrolled members of the Osage Nation, at least 18 years of age, and able to either pick up their food order at a designated location within the Osage Nation Reservation or receive a shipped order at a physical residence. The program provides a benefit card with up to $250 annually in food assistance per eligible citizen, subject to available funding. The card can only be used at Harvest Land or Butcher House.

The program reflects the Osage Nation’s continued commitment to strengthening food access, supporting families, and investing in the well-being of the Wahzhazhe people.

This program begins June 1, 2026.

Osage Nation Food Distribution Program (Year-Round)

The Osage Nation Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (ONFDPIR) provides nutritious food packages to low-income Native American households living on the Osage Nation reservation. The program is administered at the Federal level by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). USDA purchases and ships food products to the Osage Nation FDP based on orders from a list of available foods online. The ONFDP stores and distributes food, determines eligibility for applicants, and provides nutrition education to recipients.

This program is conducted year-round for eligible participants. Please find more information here
