The Osage Nation Real Estate Services Department provides management and oversite on approximately 137,292 acres of individually and tribally owned restricted and trust lands.
The Department offers farming and grazing lease management of individual and tribally owned properties. Other services include management of specialized business leases such as commercial, residential, hunting, and oil field related sites. The Field Inspectors provide inspections covering conservation needs, weed control, fencing, water, stocking rates, etc. The department also facilitates a noxious weed program and a fencing program for restricted landowners and their prospective lessees (as funding allows).
Other services provided to individual restricted landowners, including Osage Nation:
- Property tax payments
- Land purchases and sales
- Collection of non-mineral related damages and trespass fees
Real Estate Services is funded under the Osage Nation Self-Governance Multi-Year Funding Agreement (MYFA) 2014-2019 which is re-negotiated for any changes or program assumptions from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) on an annual basis and formalized by an Amendment by Re-Programming Request. Real Estate Services receives re-occurring funds on an annual basis as a base funded program.
