Letter from the President to the Osage Nation at Bluestem Celebration

Bluestem Ranch, Osage Reservation (August 24, 2016)--Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear was presented with a framed letter from the White House and U.S. President Barak Obama at the Bluestem Ranch Acquistion Celebration on Wednesday. Travis Wilson, White House Staffer, presented the letter to the Chief and all the Osage citizens in attendence. He also spoke about his Choctaw heritage and his passion for Native American issues and his work in Washington, D.C. Wilson travelled with Vince Logan, Special Trustee for the Office of Special Trust at the Department of Interior. Logan is Osage and he introduced himself as a member of the ZonZoLin District, one of the three traditional Osage communities on the Osage Reservation.

Chief Standing Bear expressed his appreciation for the letter and for Wilson travelling from Washington to hand-deliver the letter and present it at the Bluestem Ranch Acquisition Celebration.
