Osage Nation Congress Voices Unanimous Support for “Killers of the Flower Moon”
Legislative Branch Unanimously Endorses Lily Gladstone and Scott George by Law
OSAGE NATION RESERVATION, OKLA. – (Feb. 29, 2024) – Osage Nation Congress passed bills unanimously supporting Lily Gladstone and Scott George for their roles in the film “Killers of the Flower Moon.” The bills were passed into law on Friday, February 2, 2024, and signed by all twelve members of the Osage Nation Congress. Both resolutions fully endorse their contributions to the groundbreaking film and its amplification of Native storytelling. Congress members also jointly applaud the late Robbie Robertson’s achievements in creating the film’s score bolstering Indigenous excellence.
This official recognition and celebration of these achievements further authenticates the critical steps taken by the Osage Nation to collaborate with Martin Scorsese to create “Killers of the Flower Moon,” setting a new standard for Native storytelling in Hollywood. This official act by the Osage Nation Legislative Branch is an unprecedented affirmation to display public support for the cast and crew of “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
Congresswoman Pamela Shaw sponsored the bills, citing Congress’s desire to show united support. “We proudly stand behind Lily, Scott, and all those who worked tirelessly to tell our story with respect, care, and authenticity,” said Congresswoman Shaw. “It’s important for people to know they have our support.”
