FAIRFAX, Okla. (August 17, 2016) – The Osage Nation Fairfax Childcare and Senior Center, a long awaited state-of-the art facility for the small Osage community of Fairfax and Grayhorse, has a rescheduled opening time to complete building modifications for improved fire safety. The new childcare and senior center is fully funded by the Osage Nation and the actual opening date will be determined after approval by the State Fire Marshal.

According to the Osage Nation Tribal Development and Land Acquisition Department, the delay is due to building designer modifications that are compliant with Oklahoma State Fire Marshal codes, and to ensure, “adequate fire protection for future occupants.”

The Nation is still waiting for the approval of the modifications from the State Fire Marshal.

The new address for the building and location of ongoing construction is, 401 S. 8th Street, Fairfax, Okla.
