Collaboration planned for Osage Ribbon Work Project

Pawhuska, Okla. (12/14/2017) – The Osage Nation Museum (ONM), WahZhaZhe Cultural Center, Osage Nation Communications Department, and Anthropologist Jami Powell are collaborating on an Osage ribbon work documentary project.  The group is gathering documentation about historical and contemporary Osage ribbon work practices for future generations. This project will incorporate interviews with Osage ribbon workers, artists, and scholars, and will include group discussions, demonstrations, and tutorials.
 

Osage Nation Museum and Osage Nation Prevention Program to host second outdoor movie night

Pawhuska, Okla. (08/24/2017) – The Osage Nation Museum (ONM) and the Osage Nation Prevention Program (ONPP) are pleased to host the second in a series of four outdoor fun nights. A Night at the Museum: Outdoor Movie Series will continue on Friday, September 1st beginning at sundown (8:00 PM– 8:30 PM). The featured film is the Disney’s, “The Jungle Book,” a fun filled adventure that will entertain adults and children alike.
 

Osage Nation Museum hosts book signing and reading of The Night Life by Osage Poet Elise Paschen

Pawhuska, Okla. (6/29/2017) – The Osage Nation Museum (ONM) and the WahZhaZhi Cultural Center will be hosting a book signing and reading of The Night Life on Thursday, July 6th, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the ONM in Pawhuska. The book is a collection of poetry by Elise Paschen (Osage). Russ Tall Chief (Osage) is the invited guest speaker. Tall Chief is the Director of Student Engagement, Inclusion, and Multicultural Programs at Oklahoma City University.
