RE: Call for Osage Volunteers

Pawhuska, Okla., (Wednesday, January 25, 2017) Osage Nation Digital Services Group (ONDSG) is in the process of creating new mobile applications and we are seeking user input. This is a chance for Osage citizens of all ages and experience levels to become part of a test group to help develop the user experience interface for the developing applications.

The ONDSG is creating applications geared for adults, kids, and seniors. Test groups will have first access to the new applications as they become available. Members of the groups will run the apps and then provide the ONDSG with critical user insight. This feedback will help build applications that provide the best possible digital experience for all Osage members.

Some of the proposed features being considered for new mobile applications include:

  • General Contact Information
    • Including Interactive Maps
  • News and Event Information
  • Member Services Portal
  • Calendar
    • Including Important Cultural and Operational Dates
  • Informative Articles
    • Including Multimedia Presentations
  • Language Portal
    • Including Lessons, Quizzes and Progress Tracking
  • Games
    • Utilizing Osage Language, History and Culture as Elements
  • Quick Access to other Osage Nation Web Sites and Applications

Complete the application located at http://www.osage.co/alpha-group to become a part of the development team.

Volunteer Disclosure Information: This is not an offer of employment. This is an opportunity to be part of a test group that provides input to assist with the development of digital applications that will work better for everyone. Although we encourage users of all ages to become involved in the process, each user still needs to be able to provide data back to us. Test Group participants under the age of 18 will need to have adult consent in order to participate. You don’t have to be an experienced software developer to take part in this project. We need user input from all experience levels, beginner to expert. You do need to have access to the Internet and either a smartphone or another mobile device capable of accessing the Internet. If you are using cellular service to take part in this project, be aware that you will use data while running the applications. There will be no reimbursement for data use or any other expenses incurred when running the applications. Test group feedback will be gathered through a variety of means including short on-line surveys, emailed questionnaires, and narratives. The current projects only require a limited number of testers but we are encouraging anyone interested to please fill out the form and apply. If the test groups fill up before you get on the list, we will hang on to your information and let you know when the next opportunity is available. If you have any questions, contact the Osage Nation Digital Services Group at ondsg@osagenation-nsn.gov. Thank you and we look forward to working together.
