These Vaccination actions have attracted many media outlets, including Cable News Network (CNN) which showed up and was seen interviewing Principal Chief Standing Bear. A local Oklahoman, Harry Keith from Owasso, heard about the Osage Nation Health Services (ONHS) expanding the chance to vaccinate to all adults (18+) through a news update on social media.  His son, Ben Keith, had just flewn in from Chicago, Illinois to visit his father and was excited to have the opportunity to get vaccinated.  “The Osage Nation is a month or so ahead of Chicago,” said Ben Keith.  Harry Keith expressed his gratitude, “This is a wonderful gift that the Osage Nation is giving all of us.”

Due to hard work and vaccination efforts by the WZZHC, 3, 661 total vaccines have been administred between December 2020 and mid March 2021.  2,566 patrons have received their first shots and 1,090 patrons have received their second vaccination shots.  1,376 people have been vaccinated according to a data update provided by the WZZHC.

Other than Johnson and Johnson, the FDA has approved a vaccine from Pfizer and another from Moderna. Experts have highlighted the fact that all three of these vaccines have proven to be safe and highly effective.  COVID-19 vaccines work by training your immune system how to identify and fight the virus that causes COVID-19, and this protects you from getting sick with COVID-19. So you are at a much lower risk of getting the virus if you are vaccinated.

The WZZHC provides first and second shots to the community, both Moderna and Pfizer.  ONHS recently obtained a medical coach allowing the healthcare services to reach extended communities in need of COVID-19 Vaccinations.
